The Opposition or the Republican’ts

I was never happy with the Democrats in Congress during the Bush years. They were too easily cowed into submission by the Republic Party and never seemed to provide much opposition to Bush even later when the public turned sour on his policies.

I have watched the Republic Party since Obama took office and I’ve found their opposition … interesting. Rush Limbaugh, the de facto leader of the Republic Party, has openly declared he hopes Obama fails. I remember under Bush that any criticism of the administration was questioned as being unpatriotic. You are either with us or against us. If you disagree you are providing aid and comfort to the enemy. Isn’t this a case of massive hypocrisy? The Republicans would rather Obama fail and the country fail along with him, just so they can be right? Wow. Maybe they are the Republican’t party. I guess they just hate America.

Patrick,
I happen upon your site while surfing for…well heavens knows what but I find your perspectives on the Republican Party very confusing. Interesting, that your opinions are far from the truth. Now I’m not going to belittle anyone with contradictory viewpoints on politics and we could spend several heated discussions on this subject but Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Every so often he will make a “right” assumption about what is going on in the current administration and the fact that, whether you are aware of it is leading this country away from its true constitutional foundations and toward a let’s say a Borg type of society. You seem like a movie buff and you may understand what I’m trying to say here. At any rate, any Republican you should talk to would be offended that anyone would state that Rush is our “leader”. He’s not! But I’m curious though you will probably not respond, why do you despise Conservatives and/or the Republican Party? Just wondering…thank you Beth

OK, who is the leader of your party? Sarah Palin? Ex-maverick John McCain? Michael Steele?

It certainly seems like every time Rush snaps his fingers, congressmen come running. And any Republican I can talk to agrees with Rush more than they do anyone in Congress.

Sorry, tough to get worked up about a comment on a 14 month old post.
